kid's view

medium: paper cutout, poster paint, coloured markers, tape
size: 42,5cm x 23,0cm

Inspired by the Mieko Kawakami novella Ms Ice Sandwich, I created Kid's View as a direct visual representation of being defined through the outside. We learn about the titular character through the eyes of a child, and are only informed about her occupation and striking blue eyelids, without any descriptions of the rest of her face. By the influence of Polish School of Poster Art and the works of Elżbieta Chojna, I mimicked the child-like impression emphasised through the use of bright colours.
